Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Olmec to Maya culture, ca. 500 BCE to 900 CE. A collection of stone beads, each carefully shaped, polished, and drilled in disc form. The beads display natural variations in tone and surface from age and wear. They are presently strung on a simple cotton thread without a clasp and could easily be restrung for wear as a necklace. Size of strand: 18″ L (45.7 cm); largest bead: 0.7″ Diameter x 0.3″ W (1.8 cm x 0.8 cm)
Condition: Chips, nicks, and some larger losses, but all are strung on a modern cotton thread and could be restrung or made wearable as one desires.
