Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Guerrero, Mezcala culture, ca. 700 to 200 BCE. A substantial and weighty Mezcala jade maskette pendant, its broad, abstracted facial planes rendered with restrained features and a drilled suspension hole at the crown, suggesting use as a powerful personal ornament or emblem of status and protection. Size: 3.5″ W x 4.3″ H (8.9 cm x 10.9 cm)
Condition: Chip to top near suspension hole. Weathering to surface as shown. Liberal remaining detail and wearable as a pendant.
