East Asia, China / Tibet, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE; Southwestern United States, Navajo / Pueblo culture, ca. late 20th century CE. A collection of assorted silver and brass jewelry elements with copal, coral, turquoise, and glass beads, together with an Asian silver box and a Southwestern United States pendant. The sterling silver pendant set with copal is attributed to the Southwestern United States, possibly Navajo or Pueblo, and bears a sterling mark on the verso beneath a maker’s mark “M.” A cylindrical silver box features a repousse lotus motif on the lid, while a Chinese sterling silver buckle formed as the character “Fu” (good fortune) is stamped on the verso for Wang Hing & Co., an early 20th century Hong Kong export silver firm. The group also includes silver and silver-copper charms, bells, and beads from a Chinese necklace, a turquoise stone set in silver, and interlacing brass chains accented with copal beads. Size of pendant: 2.8″ L x 1.8″ W (7.1 cm x 4.6 cm); silver quality: 66% to 94%; total combined weights: 100 grams

Condition: The beads and silver charms are loose or detached from original assemblies, could be used to construct jewelry. Brass chains with beads are a large fragment from a larger necklace or headdress. Chips and nicks to beads, indentations to silver charms, and patina. Box has a tiny perforation through the lid. Southwestern pendant has wear and pitting to surface, and needs cleaning.
