East Asia, China, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A brass bangle engraved with auspicious motifs, including the double happiness symbol – a traditional emblem of joy, harmony, and good fortune. Accompanying it is a zinc talisman depicting a seated Shakyamuni Buddha, mold-cast in relief and encased in plastic for preservation, likely intended for use during a pilgrimage or temple visit. Size of bangle: 3.5″ L x 0.5″ W (8.9 cm x 1.3 cm);

Condition: Minor pitting and scratches to bangle, otherwise good condition. Buddha has a heavy patina and is encased in plastic covering.

Provenance: private Anahola, Hawaii, USA collection, acquired 1970s to 1990s
