$325.00
In stock
Egypt, Late Dynastic to Roman Period, ca. 664 BCE to 2nd century CE. A luminous strand of ancient Egyptian faience and amber beads, newly restrung on a modern cord to create a wearable necklace of warm, ancient beauty. The piece features alternating cylindrical faience beads in soft blue-green tones and irregular amber chips that glow with fiery orange and honey hues. Together, they form a composition that speaks to Egypt’s mastery of color and symbolic harmony. Faience, made from crushed quartz glazed with copper minerals, was associated with rebirth and divine radiance, while amber was treasured for its warmth and light-catching translucence. The pairing of these materials reflects the Egyptians’ deep reverence for natural beauty and spiritual renewal. Size: 27.5″ L (69.8 cm)
Reimagined on a contemporary strand, this necklace preserves its ancient components while allowing them to be admired and worn today. It is both artifact and adornment – a thread of continuity linking modern craftsmanship with Egypt’s timeless artistry.
