North Africa, Sahara Desert region, Neolithic Period, ca. 8000 to 3000 BCE. A circular chert tool formed as a broad discoidal blade with carefully flaked edges creating a continuous cutting surface. The stone presents a soft tan to pale buff desert patina, developed over long exposure, giving the surface a smooth feel. The rounded form fits comfortably in the hand, suggesting use in butchering game or processing animal hides. Size: 2.1″ Diameter (5.3 cm)
Condition: Intact with nice patina.
