Pre-Columbian, Andean Region, Inca, ca. 15th to early 16th century CE. A finely cast bronze tumi or axe head of classic crescent form, its broad, curved blade and openwork upper projection reflecting both utilitarian function and the ceremonial traditions for which such implements are renowned in Inca culture. Size: 7.1″ W x 4.3″ H (18 cm x 10.9 cm)

Condition: Some nicks and chips to edges, as well as surface wear as shown. Otherwise, intact and excellent with light patina.

Provenance: private southwestern Pennsylvania, USA collection, acquired prior to 2000
