Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Chimu culture, ca. 1000 to 1470 CE. A large copper tumi with broad crescent blade and flared handle, its surface richly patinated in mottled green tones and preserving areas of adhering textile from burial, a quiet testament to its original funerary context and ritual use. Size: 5.3″ W x 13.6″ H (13.5 cm x 34.5 cm)

Condition: Weathering to surface as shown, all commensurate with age. Otherwise, intact and very nice with rich patina and scattered textile remains from burial.

Provenance: private southwestern Pennsylvania, USA collection, acquired prior to 2000
