A finely knapped chert ceremonial knife blade of elongated, leaf-shaped form, its bifacial flaking and sharp, tapering edges reflecting the technical skill and ritual significance associated with sacrificial implements in Aztec culture. Size: 8.8″ L x 2″ W (22.4 cm x 5.1 cm)
Condition: Newer chip to one side. Some small chips and nicks to edges as shown. Otherwise, intact and excellent with still relatively sharp cutting edge.
Provenance: private southwestern Pennsylvania, USA collection, acquired prior to 2000
