A striking group of three eccentric chert ornaments, intricately knapped into openwork crescent and gear-like forms, likely imbued with ritual or symbolic significance within Maya ceremonial traditions. Size of largest (ovoid): 4.4″ L x 3.4″ W (11.2 cm x 8.6 cm)

Condition: Nicks, chips, and abrasions commensurate with age, but, otherwise, all are intact and very nice with scattered mineral deposits.

Provenance: private southwestern Pennsylvania, USA collection, acquired prior to 2000
