Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, La Tolita culture, ca. 300 BCE to 500 CE. A carved bone standing figure depicted with bent legs and arms raised to the sides of the head, possibly in a gesture of support or ritual pose. The figure wears an elaborate headdress with incised circular and geometric motifs, rising in a flared form above the head. Size: 1.75″ W x 4.75″ H (4.4 cm x 12.1 cm); 5.25″ H (13.3 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition: Natural ossification and pitting to bone. Dark brown patina. Mounted on removable display base.
