Native American Dance Cuff Rattle – Deer Hooves

Native American, Western United States, ca. late-20th century CE. A vintage dance or ceremony cuff rattle made from deer hooves and a cloth band, intended to wear a dancer’s wrist or perhaps ankle. The textile is black wool with a silk liner, and cotton cords threaded through the pierced tip of each hoof. Made for dances or powwow use and could be used today as intended! Size of band opening: 5″ Diameter (12.7 cm); hooves: 2″ L x 0.75″ W (5.1 cm x 1.9 cm)

Condition: Great condition and functional. Lightly use with only some minor fraying to threads.
