Native American, Mississippian, Caddo culture, ca. 800 to 1600 CE. A compact Mississippian Caddo pottery jar with a rounded body and short neck, distinguished by two small loop handles and paired rim nodules, its shoulder encircled by a rhythmic zigzag band of finely incised dots that animate the vessel’s otherwise earthy, utilitarian surface. Size: 4.8″ Diameter x 3.6″ H (12.2 cm x 9.1 cm)

Condition: Repaired with chipping and losses along break lines. Weathering to surface with stable fissures in areas. Earthen deposits throughout.
