Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Middle Cauca / Quimbaya culture, ca. 11th to 12th century CE. A gold nose ring made from an 82.73% (equivalent to 19K+) gold alloy sheet with tapering tips that have a small gap for inserting though a septum. This ornament could have been worn by a person or by a pottery statue – Quimbaya seated pottery figures have been excavated wearing similar rings of this size and style. Size: 1″ Diameter (2.5 cm); gold quality: 82.73% (equivalent to 19K+) silver quality: 14.12%; weight: 2.5 grams

Condition: Intact and excellent. Lightly cleaned with scattered remains of mineral and earthen deposits.
