Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1200 to 1450 CE. A set of 3 miniature pottery bowls from ancient Northern Mexico, each with elaborate, hand-painted linear decorations presented in black and red pigments. Size of largest: 3.2″ Diameter x 1.125″ H (8.1 cm x 2.9 cm)
Condition: Each piece has minor abrasions and fading to pigment, but are otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to motifs.
Provenance: private Reinsmoen collection, Clear Lake, Iowa, USA, acquired through descent from Robert Anderson, acquired prior to 2000
