Native American, Northwestern United States, Montana, Plateau Tribes, Flathead Reservation, ca. 1930s CE. A beautiful pair of beaded leather moccasins with soft soles, likely made for a woman or child. The dazzling beadwork consists of horseshoes and naturalistic flowers. The interior of one is dated 1938, and the sole has the reservation name. The Native people in the Columbia River Plateau region (eastern Oregon / Washington, northern Idaho and western Montana) were highly talented with beadwork, making beaded items for personal use and sale. Size: 8″ L x 3″ W x 3″ H (20.3 cm x 7.6 cm x 7.6 cm)

Condition: Great condition with beadwork completely intact. Unworn, with a soft sole and leather that has some age related discoloration and minor stains. Tongue and sole of one shoe has the year and the tribe written on the surface.
