$765.00

In stock

North America, Wyoming, Green River Formation, Eocene Period, ca. 53.5 to 48.5 million years ago. A shoal of Knightia fish that fossilized together in what is often called a “life assemblage” because the stone matrix contains a once living community of creatures that died while they were behaving as the normally would – likely hit by a sudden “catastrophic mass mortality” event. A great display piece for the number of fossils contained in detail! Size: 15″ L x 0.5″ W x 13″ H (38.1 cm x 1.3 cm x 33 cm)

Condition: Irregular shaped peripheries. Losses to surface layers and missing / losses to some fish fossils. Majority of fossils are intact with nice preservation to bone and even some soft tissue. No repairs or restoration.

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-private Estate collection, Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA, acquired 1960 to 2024
