Pre-Columbian, Central Peru, Huari (Wari) / Chimu culture, ca. 700 to 1500 CE. A standing bone figure carved from an ungulate / camelid bone wearing a zoomorphic headdress, both faces are inlayed with shimmering nacre shell eyes. The bone is hollowed out creating a pronounced groove, perhaps to serve as a spatulate implement. Size: 0.75″ W x 4″ H (1.9 cm x 10.2 cm); 4.25″ H (10.8 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition: Old loss to headdress tip, area is smooth from age, otherwise intact and excellent. Dark patina to bone and natural pitting.
