Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 2nd millennium BCE. A fine pair of mace heads from ancient Luristan. The first and larger is cast from copper and features a long, tubular shaft that expands to a thick, ridged bulb. Alternatively, the more petite mace head is made from bronze and presents a cylindrical form with convex walls, ribbed sockets, and 2 median bands of projecting lugs. An intimidating pair of weapons! Size of larger: 7″ L x 1.6″ Diameter (17.8 cm x 4.1 cm)

Condition: Both have some small perforations, nicks, and abrasions. Stable hairline fissure near rim of more petite mace head. Both have great presentations with rich earthen encrustations and nice patinas.
