Native American, Southwestern United States, Zuni Pueblo, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A two-piece wearable and functional jewelry grouping comprising a nickel-brass lighter sleeve with applied silver wirework and a Zuni sterling silver kachina dancer brooch with mosaic inlay. The lighter sleeve is unsigned, formed as a curved sheath and decorated on the front with three cabochons (turquoise and coral) set in silver bezels and framed by twisted wire and leaf-form appliques soldered to the metal body, while the accompanying kachina dancer brooch is executed in sterling with channel inlay of jet, turquoise, coral, and mother-of-pearl, with the reverse marked “L. Laiwakete / Zuni / Sterling” for Zuni silversmith Lynette (Linette) Laiwakete, and fitted with a pin back as well as a bail for wear as either a brooch or pendant. Size: 2.8″ L x 1.3″ W (7.1 cm x 3.3 cm); silver quality: 80% to 92%; weight of brooch: 12.3 grams

Condition: Lighter has white oxidation and wear from use, but is intact and still usable, and fits most Bic lighters. Brooch is intact and wearable, with dark patina on verso.
