Lot 311b, Auction 3/19/2026: WWII USA SIMCO Bazooka Practice Rocket Lamp
$260.00
In stock
United States, WWII era, ca. 1940s CE. A table lamp fashioned from a SIMCO-manufactured bazooka practice rocket body, the metal shaft retaining its original military form and industrial finish. The rocket element is mounted into a cast iron trefoil base painted red and fitted with period electrical hardware, reflecting a mid-century conversion of surplus military material into a functional household object. Size: 8″ W x 18.75″ H (20.3 cm x 47.6 cm)
Condition: Functions as a lamp, but electrical wiring is vintage and it is recommended to replace wiring for long term use, or use a battery operated bulb. Patina and oxidation throughout, with chipping to red pigments.
Provenance: ex-private collection, Fairhaven, Massachusetts, USA, collected from 2010 to 2015
