East Asia, China, Ming Dynasty, ca. 1368 to 1644 CE. A set of 3 hand-built pottery vessels of petite sizes. A wide bowl features a white ground beneath a dense mat of barnacles and marine encrustations, and a garlic-shaped bottle bears remains of blue glaze across the exterior. The largest vessel is a squat, discoid vessel used for cleaning ink or pigment from paint brushes. Size of largest: 3.125″ W x 0.8″ H (7.9 cm x 2 cm)
Condition: Both smaller vessels with ample marine encrustations, and largest without. Each vessel is intact and very good with nice form.
Provenance: private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection, acquired before 2010
