Native American, Tonto Basin in southeastern Arizona, Salado culture, San Carlos, ca. 1150 to 1500 CE. An attractive pottery bowl created by the Salado culture, hand built via coil and scrape technique to present a minimalist, hemispherical form. Termed San Carlos red-on-brown ware, the surface is adorned with red on light brown textile-inspired geometric decoration of spiraling meander motifs around the interior rim and meandering striated designs on the exterior. Size: 9.5″ Diameter x 4.75″ H (24.1 cm x 12.1 cm)
