Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A set of 2 hand-built pottery vessels, an apple-shaped jar and a tapered bowl. The yellow-orange jar features black-painted linear motifs across the exterior while the bowl exhibits an undecorated russet hue. Size of largest: 6″ W x 6.25″ H (15.2 cm x 15.9 cm)
Condition: Stabilization to fissure on bowl. Chip to rim of jar, with pitting to both vessels, and light fading to pigment, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to overall forms.
Provenance: private Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA collection, inherited via grandfather, who collected before 1980
