Native American Chaco Black on White Pottery Bowl

Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Chaco Canyon type, ca. 1150 to 1250 CE. A lovely white-ground pottery bowl formed via the Pueblo coil-and-scrape technique. Within the basin is a pair of dramatically angled, stripe-filled bands with tightly coiled terminals, all in black pigment. Size: 5.3″ L x 5″ W x 2.25″ H (13.5 cm x 12.7 cm x 5.7 cm)

Condition: Repairs to vessel, with restoration to area of rim, and with light overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and light fading to pigment, with small chips to rim, otherwise in great condition. Nice motif within basin. Previous inventory label handwritten beneath base.
