Near East, Persia (current day Iran), ca. early 20th century CE. A set of 2 attractive pottery dishes, each displaying an elaborate pattern beneath clear glaze within the basin. The first plate bears vibrant green and blue pigment in 8 triangular panels, and the larger features dark brown, blue, and yellow pigment in bands of repeating geometric and linear patterns. Size of largest: 11.6″ L x 11.8″ W x 3.3″ H (29.5 cm x 30 cm x 8.4 cm)

Condition: Both with small chips and light abrasions, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to decorations within each basin.

Provenance: private Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA collection, inherited via grandfather, who collected before 1980
