North America, United States, ca. 19th century CE. A collection of 3 antique powder horns made from cow and bison horn sheaths, the mouth ends capped with wood stoppers, and suspension rings were added to the ends of 2 horns. Size of largest: 14.5″ L x 3″ W (36.8 cm x 7.6 cm)

Condition: Two are in great condition with minor nicks and expected wear from use. One has chips, small losses, and a stable fissure radiating from the end cap rim. Remains of gunpowder inside.

Provenance: private Reinsmoen collection, Clear Lake, Iowa, USA, acquired through descent from Robert Anderson, acquired prior to 2000
