Roman, Imperial period, Eastern Empire, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A stunning juglet free-blown from translucent blue-green glass. The piriform vessel features a lengthy neck, a flared mouth, and a slender, trailed handle, all enveloped in a dazzling, violet-hued iridescence. Imagine the sweet and floral fragrances or rich oils this graceful juglet once contained! Size: 2.1″ Diameter x 4.2″ H (5.3 cm x 10.7 cm)
Condition: Professional repair and restoration to base, as well as small chip to base of handle. Otherwise, excellent presentation with thick weathering film to interior and gorgeous iridescence to exterior.
