Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, Iron Age I-II, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A striking copper axe head featuring a bearded blade, an annular socket, and a projecting section to the back with a relief, standing male figure on either side. The lower part of the socket is slightly hooked, with the back region extending further for additional grip. The projecting flange at the back opens up at the male figure’s head, creating an openwork design and bringing more attention to the figure. Size: 5.2″ L x 1.1″ W x 2.5″ H (13.2 cm x 2.8 cm x 6.4 cm)

Condition: Surface wear as shown with nicks, abrasions, and weathering all commensurate with age. Otherwise, intact and excellent with rich patina throughout.
