Western Europe or United States, Victorian era, ca. 19th century CE. A pictorial needlepoint tapestry depicting an idyllic outdoor scene centered on a neo-classical building with a columned portico and prominent cupola, set within a landscaped garden. The work is executed in needlepoint or petit point embroidery and reflects popular interest in architecture inspired by Georgian and Federalist styles. In the foreground, a small group of figures dressed in late 18th- to early 19th-century attire gathers in a leisurely social moment, suggesting a genteel garden visit or promenade scene. Size: 13″ L x 10″ W (33 cm x 25.4 cm)

Condition: Tearing to the raw edges and peripheries of the canvas. Small losses to the lower long edge of the canvas with small tear and fraying into the needlepoint. The needlepoint scene is well preserved, with some discoloration and fading.
