Mexico, ca. 21st century CE. A leather band bracelet centered by a polished greenstone disc framed by two hammered 18K gold mounts. Part of the ‘Stefano’ line by Consuelo Ulrich, daughter of Alberto Ulrich who assumed leadership of the Spratling enterprise after William Spratling’s death. The circular stone is carved in a flat ring form and secured at either side by softly curved gold elements with a hand-hammered surface. The gold mounts are fitted to sterling silver barrel connectors, which secure a wide, woven black leather strap finished with a looped end closure. The underside of the gold mounts is stamped “STEFANO” and “18K.” Size: 7″ L x 1.3″ W (17.8 cm x 3.3 cm); gold quality: 75% to 76% (equivalent to 18K)

This bracelet has a connection to the Spratling legacy through the Ulrich family, who continued the workshop after William Spratling’s death in 1967. Alberto Ulrich, a close friend and supporter of Spratling, assumed leadership of the enterprise to carry it forward. His daughters, Violante and Consuelo Ulrich, have remained involved in maintaining and developing that tradition. In 2008, Consuelo founded the Stefano brand in memory of her brother and directs the creative process from initial design to finished piece. Her work reflects a nature-inspired aesthetic and a blend of Mexican and American design influences, situating this bracelet within that extended lineage.

Condition: Underside of leather straps are rubbed and lightly worn from use. Minor scratches to stone and metal. Wearable.
