Velma Zeena (Native American, Hopi, contemporary) ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A handmade pottery vessel in the form of a bird with a crest upon its head and black and red geometric motifs on the sides. The underside is signed by the artist with some Hopi symbols. The bird may represent a chicken or a more traditional roadrunner which also has a crested head. Size: 7.75″ L x 4″ W x 3.5″ H (19.7 cm x 10.2 cm x 8.9 cm)

Condition: Some fading to surface pigments and small chips to crest. Rest of the vessel is intact. Some wear to base and fading to signature, but legible.
