Native American, Southwestern United States, Hopi, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A beautiful pottery bowl, hand-painted with mesmerizing designs reminiscent of Sikyatki revival pottery in black, beige, and red. Sitting upon a round yet stable base, the vessel is comprised of thick walls that spread out to a broad shoulder and an inward-curving rim over a shallow basin. The exterior is enveloped in red slip with a broad horizontal band of abstract geometric, lattice, and linear motifs, while the interior is covered in beige pigment with red and black phytomorphic and curvilinear patterns. Size: 10.3″ Diameter x 3.5″ H (26.2 cm x 8.9 cm)
