Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Chaco Canyon type, ca. 1150 to 1250 CE. A hand-built pottery canteen exhibiting an apple-shaped body, a pair of loop handles on the sloped shoulder, and a squat neck. The white-ground exterior surfaces are adorned with a repeating wheel of serrations and spokes atop the shoulder as well as additional serrated columns surrounding the lower body; the base is undecorated. Size: 5.25″ Diameter x 4.2″ H (13.3 cm x 10.7 cm)
