Native American, Southwestern United States, Four Corners Region, southern Colorado Plateau, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 1030 to 1175 CE. A fine pottery seed jar presenting a narrow base with impressively thin walls that rise to an apple-form body and an inward-curving rim. Enveloped in red-orange slip, the exterior walls feature Wingate Black-on-Red decoration with a thick, horizontal band of geometric and linear motifs that envelop the rounded shoulder. Size: 5.75″ Diameter x 3.75″ H (14.6 cm x 9.5 cm)
