Native American, Southwestern United States, Four Corners region, Southern Colorado Plateau, Pueblo I/Pueblo II (Anasazi) period, ca. 875 to 1050 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel with a round but stable base, a bulbous body with two lateral protrusions flanking the base of the tall neck, a rounded back side, and an arching strap handle joining neck to back – all resembling an abstract duck. The exterior displays a series diagonal white bars on the front, vertical stippling along the verso, and a ring of black spots beneath. Size: 5.9″ L x 5.4″ W x 5″ H (15 cm x 13.7 cm x 12.7 cm)

Condition: Professional repair and restoration, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and fading to original pigment, otherwise in nice condition. Great form and motifs.
