Native American, southwestern United States, New Mexico, Pueblo II / Pueblo III (Anasazi) period, Tularosa, ca. 875 to 1050 CE. A white-ground pottery mug exhibiting a spherical body, a cylindrical neck, and a handle with a pair of perforations for suspension. Painted in black are bands of linear and geometric motifs that zigzag and spiral across the exterior. Size: 4.5″ L x 4.125″ W x 4.625″ H (11.4 cm x 10.5 cm x 11.7 cm)

Condition: Chips to rim and body, with light fading to exterior pigment, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to black-painted motifs.

Provenance: private Reinsmoen collection, Clear Lake, Iowa, USA, acquired through descent from Robert Anderson, acquired prior to 2000.
