Native American, Mississippian culture, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. A grayware pottery bottle with a rounded base and globular body, rising to a short cylindrical neck, its surface subtly decorated with faint incised curvilinear motifs that softly emerge through the weathered patina. Size: 6.2″ Diameter x 7.3″ H (15.7 cm x 18.5 cm)
Condition: Repair and restoration to neck with break line visible. Some chips to rim, as well as nicks and abrasions to body. Otherwise, nice presentation with good remains of incised decoration. Old collection labels on underside of base.
