$2,275.00
In stock
South Asia, India, ca. 10th to 12th century CE. A red sandstone frieze/stele panel carved in high relief with a tribhanga-standing Shiva, presented frontally with a calm expression, tall tiered headdress, and layered jewelry, holding characteristic attributes in his four hands. The deity’s short dhoti, sash, and beaded girdle are rendered with clear linear detailing, while attendant elements – including a small Nandi bull to his right – add narrative depth typical of temple wall programs. Condition: Old resin / plaster spots added to the verso and base and verso from a previous display. Old loss to upper left hand attribute. Abrasions and some softening to finer details, but otherwise good condition.
