Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A group of four bronze miniature busts comprising three human figures and one lion head, each rendered with stylized features and likely once serving as decorative attachments or appliques, reflecting the Roman taste for figural ornament in domestic and personal objects. Size of largest: 1.3″ L x 1.6″ W x 2.4″ H (3.3 cm x 4.1 cm x 6.1 cm)

Condition: Small loss to top of largest. All have expected wurface wear with weathering and abrasions commensurate with age. Otherwise, nice remaining detail and rich patina throughout.
Provenance: private Dayton, Maryland, USA collection; ex-private F. B. collection, Maryland, USA, acquired between 1990 to 2010
