Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Levantine region, Bronze Age to Iron Age, ca. 2000 to 600 BCE. A warm and tactile group of five vessels, their rounded silhouettes echo the continuity of daily life across centuries of cultural change. The assemblage includes three handled jugs and two squat jars, each formed in terracotta with globular bodies, short necks, and everted rims suited for storing and pouring liquids. Handles range from single loops to paired lugs, while subtle wheel marks and hand-shaped irregularities reveal varied methods of production. Surfaces in buff and red tones retain traces of slip, burnishing, and earthen accretions from burial. These utilitarian forms were central to domestic and agricultural life and were sometimes placed in tombs as provisions for the afterlife. Comparable examples are known throughout the Levant, reflecting a shared ceramic tradition spanning the Bronze to Iron Age. Size of largest: 5.1″ L x 4.9″ W x 6.1″ H (13 cm x 12.4 cm x 15.5 cm)
