Lot 153, Auction 4/12/2024: Ancient Luristan Bronze / Copper Spear Tips (3)

Near East, Luristan, ca. 1000 BCE. A fine ensemble of spear tips – 1 of copper and 2 of bronze. The most petite is forged from copper and features an ovoid point and a flared shaft. Alternatively, the largest is of slender form and is incised with abstract decoration along the shaft. Last, the bronze tip of mid-size presents a long, triangular point that ends with a dramatic, perpendicular shoulder. Size of longest: 15″ L x 1″ W (38.1 cm x 2.5 cm)

Condition: Chips and nicks to peripheries of all. Surface pitting, heavy patina, and mineral deposits. Overall, intact and in good condition.
