In stock

East Asia, China, Tang Dynasty, ca. 618 to 907 CE. A set of 7 cast-brass attachments, each of fragmentary form and covered in a thin layer of gilding. Each piece features an abstract, three-lobed pattern, each one with spiraling tendrils that perhaps represent clouds. Attachments like these were used on personal items like furniture or chests. Condition: Each is a fragment of a larger composition as shown. Abrasions and nicks, with patina encrustations, and fading to gilt layer, otherwise in good condition. Nice patina throughout.
