Pre-Columbian, Central Coast of Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A sizable beaker or kero of elegant form, hand-formed from a sheet of 95% silver foil. The conical vessel extends upwards with a series of stepped tiers, each one decorated in repousse with a repeating band of steps or pyramids with stippling in-between. The rim is decorated with dozens of petite notches that create a ridged presentation, and the surfaces exhibit a pleasing luster throughout. Size: 5.25″ L x 4.875″ W x 6.3″ H (13.3 cm x 12.4 cm x 16 cm); silver quality: 95%; total weight: 105.4 grams

Condition: Professional cleaning to surfaces as shown. Abrasions and softening to some finer details, and minor indentations in scattered areas, otherwise in great condition. Wonderful luster throughout. Previous inventory label beneath base.
