Pre-Columbian, Central Coast of Peru, Chancay, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. An impressive pottery figure standing atop delineated legs while holding both arms out from sloped shoulders. Known as a cuchimilco (or star-gazer), the nude figure peers up towards the sky with discoid eyes and gaping jaw.
