Africa, Madagascar, early to mid-Triassic period, ca. 252 to 220 million years ago. A collection of four fossilized petrified wood slabs cut in cross section and prepared to reveal their interior growth rings, banding, and mineral coloration. The surfaces are polished on both sides to a smooth, reflective finish that highlights areas of quartz mineralization in tones of cream, gray, brown, and charcoal. The natural edges retain the organic contours of the original trunks, creating varied silhouettes. Suitable for display as natural history specimens or for functional use as tabletop coasters or small trays. Size of largest: 15″ L x 10.5″ W (38.1 cm x 26.7 cm)

Condition: Cut and polished. Some scratches, nicks, and abrasions.
