Anne Goldsmith (American, 20th century). A beautiful stone carving by American sculptor, Anne Goldsmith, carved from a single piece of alabaster of blush red hues with warm beige inclusions. The figure represents a seated young girl playfully hugging her upraised knees close to her body. With impressive artistry and technique, Goldsmith imbues life into stone. Just look at the figure’s expressive, face with wide open eyes taking in the world before her, as well as her sweet, familiar childlike pose with each finger gripping her calves. A captivating sculpture, mounted on an attractive custom base adorned with a brass plate that is inscribed with the artist’s name. Size: 7.25″ L x 4.5″ W x 10.75″ H (18.4 cm x 11.4 cm x 27.3 cm); 12.5″ H (31.8 cm) on included custom stand.
Condition: Sculpture has a few slight surface scuffs but is otherwise in very good overall condition. Mounted on an attractive custom base that is adorned with a brass plate inscribed with the artist’s name.
