$292.50
In stock
Southeast Asia, Malay people, ca. 19th to 20th century CE. A rugged and beautifully utilitarian Malayan parang, forged for the humid realities of jungle life, where a blade is less a weapon than a daily companion. The long steel blade tapers to a sharp point and is paired with a distinctive angled wooden hilt, its dark patina shaped by years of handling. The knife is accompanied by its fitted wooden sheath, secured with simple bindings and retaining a small textile tie. A classic example of Southeast Asian field craftsmanship, this parang embodies the practical elegance of tools made to clear brush, cut wood, and endure. Size with sheath: 15.5″ L x 4.3″ W (39.4 cm x 10.9 cm)
