3rd C. Gandharan Pottery Molds (for creating designs)
Central Asia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Northern India, Gandhara, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE. An ensemble of 5 hand-built pottery molds made for forming a myriad of designs. Included are molds to create a lobed cross surrounded by radiating points; a pair of petite serpents; a large leaf resembling a fleur-des-lis; a dharma wheel, and a miniature conical beehive. Size of largest: 3.4″ L x 3.1″ W x 1.2″ H (8.6 cm x 7.9 cm x 3 cm)
Condition: Small losses to 3 larger molds; remaining 2 molds are intact. Each with softening to some finer details, otherwise in good condition. Custom putty molds included.
