Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 3rd to 4th century CE. An elegant free-blown glass oinochoe (pouring vessel) shaped from semi-translucent blue-green glass. The vessel is defined by a piriform body with a rounded shoulder, a cylindrical neck with a trefoil spout and rolled rim, and an arching trail handle applied between the rim and shoulder, all atop a thick circular trail foot. Layers of brilliant rainbow-hued iridescence are scattered across the surfaces and nicely complement the vessel’s vibrant turquoise hues. Custom lucite display stand included. Size: 2.7″ W x 5.1″ H (6.9 cm x 13 cm); 5.625″ H (14.3 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition: Minor abrasions to body, spout, and base, with micro-bubbling within glass matrix, a stable hairline fissure along the verso, and light weathering film, otherwise intact and excellent. Light earthen deposits and nice areas of rainbow iridescence throughout.
